Family Swim

Overview:
Family Swim is a free, 13 week program offered twice a year to “Friends of S.Au.S.” members at Complexe aquatique Saint-Constant. Families can enjoy exclusive access to the pool in a safe, judgment-free environment designed to promote relaxation, fun, and bonding.

 

Benefits:
Swimming provides unique advantages for autistic individuals by reducing stress, encouraging gentle repetitive movement, and supporting speech and brain development. The water’s calming effect helps regulate emotions while creating space for parallel play and comfortable social interaction. Family Swim allows participants to enjoy exercise at their own pace while building confidence and coordination.

 

Structure:
Each session is supervised by three certified lifeguards. Only S.Au.S. members are admitted during the program hour, ensuring privacy and inclusivity. Families can enjoy swimming together in a bright and comfortable atmosphere.

 

Rules/Requirements:

*Bathing caps are required for all participants.

*Children must always be accompanied by an adult in the pool.

*Free for “Friends of S.Au.S.” members – no registration required.

*A valid membership card must be presented upon arrival.
